Hello HCMUD 24 Residents,

We wanted to share a quick but important reminder about proper waste disposal after a small incident today. A resident attempted to dispose of liquid paint in the trash, which unfortunately spilled in the street. While we understand accidents happen, this serves as a good opportunity to revisit our community guidelines.

Please note:

• Liquid paint is not accepted in regular trash bins. Improper disposal can create hazards and damage property.

• Dry out latex paint before disposal: Leave the can open (away from kids/pets) to let it harden, then place it in the trash with the lid off.

• Oil-based paint is considered hazardous waste — check local recycling centers or hazardous waste collection events for drop-off options.
